Thiruvananthapuram District Embroidery Workers Welfare Co-op Society Ltd, Plamoottakada, Parassala, Trivandrum, Kerala. The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the premier national organization for preservation, promotion and protection of Indian handicrafts is implementing various schemes for the promotion and development of handicrafts and welfare of the craftspersons. The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) is organizing GANDHI SHILP RAZAARS throughout the country and the main objective of conducting this mega event is to provide marketing platform to the artisans from all over the country to arrange for a direct market linkage between the artisans and the art loving citizens. The participating crafts persons can feel the real needs and taste of the consumer and can orient the designs as per the market requirement. About 70 master crafts persons including National Awardees, State Awardees from various States selected through the online portal www.indian.handicrafts.gov.in of Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) will be participating with their exquisite craft creations to show case their traditional beritage of arts & crafts to the connoisseurs of Trivandrum The major crafts that will be on display & sale are Kashmir shawls, jewellery, carpets, metal ware, Hand printed textiles, Artistic pottery, leather items, Mithila Paintings, jute crafts of West Bengal, Carpet & other floor coverings, Printed bed sheets, Hand embroidery, cane & bamboo, dry flower items from North Eastern States, exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, bronze icons, Kalamkari sarees, terracotta, papier machie, hand block printing, zari embroidery, batik, natural fibre products, Tanjore/Mysore paintings etc.. Handloom weaver artisans will also participate in the event. Besides, there will be live demonstration of various crufts by eminent Mastercraftspersons on important and intricate crafts of other States.
This is a unique event showcasing marvelous handicrafts creations from all over the country under roof and providing excellent opportunity for the art loving public residing in and around Trivandrum to have a glimpse of all of all national crafts.The exhibition at Nayanar Park, East Fort, Trivandrum is open to public from 29/10/2025 to 07/11/2025 (including Sundays) from 10.00 am to 8.00 pon. The event is being inaugurated by Adv. ANTONY RAJU. Honourable MLA and First sale inauguration by Shri. KANSALAN, Honourable MLA, Neyyattinkara. Smt. Anukumari, IAS, District collector, Shri. TV Subhash, IAS, Director PRD, & Smt.
